In januari 2009 rondde hij zijn doctoraatsthesis (Design issues in conjoint analysis for market and non-market valuation) succesvol af.
In 2003, Bart Vermeulen (Brugge, 1981) obtained his undergraduate degree in Applied Economic Sciences (major: theoretical and quantitative economics) at the University of Antwerp, RUCA. After a short career at the research department of the 'Confederatie Bouw' he joined the department 'Operations Research and Business Statistics' of the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. In 2006, he finished the doctoral program followed at the department of Applied Economics at the K.U.Leuven. In January 2009 he finished succesfully his PhD thesis (Design issues in conjoint analysis for market and non-market valuation). From 2009 till 2011, he worked as economist at the Federal Public Services Economy, departement Competition Policy and is researcher at the K.U.Leuven, Faculty of Business and Economics. From 2011 onwards, he is Chief Economist at pharma.be.
Onderzoek interesses: experimental design,
discrete keuzemodellen, waardering van markt -en non-marktgoederen,
industrial organisation
Till January 2009 he has been working on his PhD related to
experimental design and the measurement of preferences at the research group
'Operations Research and Business Statistics', under supervision of
Prof.
Dr. Martina Vandebroek and
Prof. Dr. Peter Goos. After his PhD he
was working at the Federal Public Services, department Competition policy and
is researcher at the K.U.Leuven. Currently, he is Chief Economist at
pharma.be.
Research interests: experimental design,
discrete choice models, valuation of market and non-market goods, industrial
organisation
