Pavel Caian is currently working at the European Commission, DG Joint Research Centre. He is part of the team modelling and assessing the impact of agricultural and rural development policies. He is affiliated with the Economics and Econometrics Research Institute and the Slovenská Poľnohospodárska Univerzita, where he was teaching Land Economics, Development Economics and Food Policy prior to joining the European Commission. His research interests are transaction costs and market imperfections, transition economics, rural factor markets, agricultural economics, trade and migration.
Italo Colantone is Assistant Professor at the Erasmus University Rotterdam, in the department of Applied Economics, where he teaches Economics of Governance and Strategy. His research focuses on Industrial Organization and International Trade.
Karen Crabbé is Assistant Professor at Lessius, Antwerp where she teaches courses on tax competition, taxation of multinationals and international company strategy. Her research focuses on corporate tax competition, effective tax rates of firms and European Integration.
Jože Damijan is Associate Professor of the international economics at the University of Ljubljana. He is a member of the editorial boards of the IB review and the Economic and Business Review. He is the author of numerous scientific papers, selected book chapters, monographs and working papers in the area of international trade, FDI, economic geography, economics of European integration, economics of transition, privatisation, corporate governance in transition economies.
d'Artis Kancs is currently working at the European Commission, DG Joint Research Centre. He is part of the team developing a system of regional models for the assessment of the EU Cohesion Policy. He is affiliated with the London School of Economics and the Economics and Econometrics Research Institute. Prior to joining the European Commission, he worked for the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis. His research interests are international trade, labour migration, spatial sorting, regional economics and policy, rural factor markets and renewable energy.
Damiaan Persyn is currently working at the VIVES institute of the Faculty of Business and Economics at the KULeuven and is an IZA affiliate. His current research focuses on the relationship between trade and labour market imperfections, regional economics and statistics.
Veerle Slootmaekers is currently working at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development in the Directorate for Employment, Labour and Social Affairs. She is part of the team reviewing on the labour market and social policies for the OECD accession countries.
Mariana Spatareanu is assistant professor in the Deparment of Economics and Core Faculty at the Graduate Division of Global Affairs, Rutgers University, US. Her research interests include foreign direct investment, international trade, economics of transition, corporate governance. She previously worked for the World Bank where she was involved in research related to FDI with focus on developing countries.
Stijn Vanormelingen is Lecturer/Researcher at the Hogeschool-Universiteit Brussel. His main fields of research interests include empirical industrial organization and international trade.
Ilke Van Beveren is an assistant professor at Lessius Hogeschool. She teaches Research Methodology and International Economics. Her main fields of research interests include International Trade and Firm Dynamics.
Marijke Verpoorten is Assistant Professor at the University of Antwerp. Her research interests include micro-economic analysis of household surveys, the economics of armed conflict, LDCs, food safety standards and global supply chains, the economics of religion.
