The AFI department is located in the center of Leuven, in
the Hogenheuvel building at Naamsestraat 69. A detailed map of Leuven can be

Train
Please check the
train timetables first. The railway station is situated at 1 km of the
City centre. Most college buildings in the centre of the city are situated at
an acceptable walking distance from the railway station (max. 2 km). All bus
connections (except 307 and 178) in and around Leuven have a stop at the
railway station and pass through the City centre.
Take the Bondgenotenlaan in front of the railway station and walk straight
ahead until you reach the townhall (after about 600 meters). There you turn
left into the Naamsestraat which you follow for about 500 meters until you
arrive at our building (number 69).
Car
Leuven is situated near the crossing of two important motor ways: the E40 and
the A2. It takes about 20 minutes to get to Brussels (30km) and from Brussels
there are motor ways to the most important Belgian cities and to important
cities in the nearest countries. A detailed route description can be obtained
from Map24.
Follow the loop around Leuven till you reach the Naamsepoort. Take the
Naamsestraat in the direction of the townhall (Stadhuis). On the top of the
hill, you turn right, into the Parkstraat, where you immediately turn left into
the Vlamingenstraat. After about 30 meters, you will find the parking space
(faculty personnel only) on your left-hand side. If you are a visitor, ring the
bel for the information desk.
Plane
Brussels Airport is situated in between of Brussels and Leuven. Flight
schedules for
departures and
arrivals are available. Although Brussels Airport is situated in between
of Brussels and Leuven, there are no direct public transport connections from
Leuven to Brussels Airport. From Brussels Airport, you can go to Brussel-North
by train (3 trains per hour) and from there to Leuven (4 trains per hour). One
taxi ride Brussels Airport - Leuven (or back) costs approximately 60 Euro.
