Advanced examination schedule
What?
From this year on the K.U.Leuven is implementing the advanced examination schedule. This means that at the start of the academic year, when you fill in your Individual Study Programme (ISP) in K.U.Loket, you will know the exam dates for January and June. This also means that while selecting your subjects and composing your ISP, you will have to bear those examination dates in mind.
For most of the courses followed at our faculty, there will only be one possible examination date but for some course, you will be able to choose between different examination dates.
How?
Once you have registered for your programme, you will have access to your ISP in which you have to choose your courses. After choosing your courses, you have to go to your Individual Exam Schedule (IES) (also in K.U.Loket) where you will be able to register for the exams of the courses you have chosen in your ISP.
- In case there is only one examination date available for a course, you have to register for that examination date.
- If there is more than one examination date available, you can register for the exam that fits best in your schedule.
- If there is no examination date available, please contact your ombuds[1] (see http://www.econ.kuleuven.be/eng/fac/teaching/ombuds_e.html).
You will not be able to send your ISP for approval if you have not registered for the exams as well.
In case of an overlap between the examination of two courses, you might be entitled to a retake exam (check document). If you are not entitled to a retake exam, you are advised to choose another course. If you do not choose another course, you have to forsake an exam opportunity for one of both courses and you will only be able to take the exam for that course in the third examination period (August-September).
When?
If you are enrolled in one programme
- You can fill in and save your ISP from September 1 till October 12th
- You can fill in and save your IES from September 27 till October 12th
- After you have filled in your ISP and your IES, you have to send your ISP to the faculty for approval (deadline October 12th!!!)
If you are enrolled in more than one programme (e.g. Prep. Programme and Master of Financial Economics)
- For your ‘lower’ programme (e.g. Prep. Programma) the same rules apply as for the students enrolled in one programme
-
For your ‘higher’ programme (e.g. Master of Financial Economics) the following rules apply:
- You can fill in and save your ISP from October 2nd till October 12th
- You can fill in and save your IES from October 2nd till October 12th
- After you have filled in your ISP and your IES, you have to send your ISP to the faculty for approval (deadline October 12th!!!). You first need to send the ISP of your lower programme, to be able to send your ISP of your higher programme.
At the start of the 2nd semester your ISP will be opened again and you will be able to make changes to it till February 29th.
